Biography
Joe is a principal in the New York Financial Services Organization (FSO) of Ernst & Young LLP (EY US). Joe has more than 27 years of experience at EY US focusing on asset management clients and is the technical leader of the EY US Financial Services Asset Management Tax practice.
Joe’s experience includes significant involvement at both the fund and fund manager levels with structuring, strategy development, tax planning, transaction due diligence, and offshore and cross-border issues, as well as coordinating and supervising our tax compliance services. Among Joe’s clients are domestic and offshore hedge funds, registered investment advisors and investment companies, private equity funds, and fund of funds investment vehicles.
Joe has presented to the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Financial Products Division and the Managed Funds Association on issues related to the taxation of financial products and has had articles published in several asset management industry publications. Joe is an active member of the Managed Funds Association Tax Committee. Additionally, Joe is a frequent instructor at EY and industry seminars dealing with the taxation of financial products and investment partnerships.
Joe has been admitted to the New York State Bar and holds a JD from the New York University School of Law. Joe is also a graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
